this is the girl who made my absolutely amazing wedding dress. she too is absolutely amazing.

now it’s my turn to make something fabulous for her: a portfolio site. what’s up now is a placeholder while hans and i are off galavanting about the eastern mediterranean. i’ll post again when the real bit goes live.

hans and i spent last night printing winter solstice cards, which got me contemplating my fine art training in relationship to my career in the advertising industry. it’s an advantage, contrary to what some might think. it’s not as though i’m stuck in the past, it’s not as though it’s kept me from understanding how the industry changes or from keeping up with technology. rather, it gives me a mental library of concepts and images to choose from that extends beyond the trendy world of interactive design. creation is, after all, mostly reinvention. so why limit sources of inspiration to web and interactive?

infuz launched their new site on monday, after a tedious three months of development. yes, there are still glitches, but overall it’s still nice bit to look at. my major contribution to the site was the fog and condensation, inspired by the glass in hans’s shower. reproducing the effect was nowhere near simple, nor is the final execution up to my perfectionist standards, but it’s definitely a starting point.

i also redesigned my grapholio tuesday afternoon, the code part of which was surprisingly fun. i have a great deal of work i have yet to document and represent, so i expect updates will be occurring fairly soon. and with the nature of this business, frequently thereafter.

and now i have made my first entry into this blog where i try desperately to keep up with design trends and to keep comments about clients to myself.

so three sites in one week, and i’m spent.
