varmints.
after seeing and lusting after varmints at powell’s, i finally gave in and bought the book. the story’s message is told mostly through the illustrations by marc craste, which are beautiful integrations of text and image. a wonderful book for any artist, though intentioned for an older crowd than the average children’s book.

so hans donated some money to the madagascar fauna group, mike lee sent us a lemur, and then we photographed the lemur [named carnegie] traveling across the country with us to our new home in seattle.
